Best Employers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia 2004

Hewitt’s Best Employer Study was conducted in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for the first time. Fifty-seven companies applied for participation in the study and thirty-one companies fulfilled all criteria for being included into the final analysis and ranking. Altogether, almost 5.500 employees took part in the employee engagement survey which represents the population of almost 29.500 employees.

The following winners were awarded at the ceremony on April 2, 2004 in the hotel “Andel’s” in Prague:

    – Pharmaceuticals, Czech Republic
  6. AVON Cosmetics, spol. s r.o.
    – Cosmetics, Czech Republic
  7. BRAMAC – strešné systémy, spol. s r.o.
    – Building Materials, Slovakia
  8. British American Tobacco (Czech Republic), s.r.o.
    – Tobacco, Czech Republic
  9. Plzeňský Prazdroj, a.s.
    – Brewery, Czech Republic
  10. S&T Slovakia, spol. s r.o.
    – Information Technology, Slovakia

The Czech and Slovak Best Employers achieved an extremely high average engagement score of 73%, i.e., almost three quarters of all employees are highly engaged. This means that almost three quarters of employees among the Best Employers:

  • have an intense desire to be a member of the organization;
  • speak positively about the company to friends, coworkers, potential employees and customers;
  • exert extra effort and engage in work that contributes to business success.

The average engagement score of Czech and Slovak companies was 55%, what is high in comparison with other countries. This can be explained by the fact that the vast majority of all participating companies belongs already among the “better” employers on the Czech and Slovak markets.
